The title remains variously translated, with the words 'se récréer' having a similar ambiguity as the English 're-creation'. A possible rendition is Ways to recreation with the deck of cards called Tarot.

This book, following on from his earlier book on divination using non-tarot playing cards, remains the first known treatise on Tarot used for divination, emerging only two years after the Comte de M*** discussed possible divinatory meanings in his essay, titled 'Recherches sur les Tarots, et sur la Divination par les Cartes des Tarots', within De Gebelin's Le Monde Primitif, vol. VIII.
